House

I’ve officially made it through the first week of work! Congratulations gao! WE MADE IT! HAHAHA i’m speaking as if we’ve completed the entire program, when in fact it’s only been one week (of orientation).

So anyway, just to give you a feel of what gao and I do during office hours, this is what tires us out:

2 months later

Flea’s back!!!

I got a little excited at the sound of her voice this early afternoon that I hopped onto a cab over to her place as soon as I could.

Halfway through the cab ride, the cab driver called out for me to check the direction of my destination. He threw the street directory towards me and asked me to look for the place, and then shortly after he stopped somewhere along the road to scan the position of my location on the map. He didn’t offer to charge me less for his stopover, neither did he apologise for throwing the street directory at me. baaaah.

DAWN IS BACK TOOO! hehe now we’re just short of mellie!

because i live for food

In true sillyspider fashion, i have started listing down the possible places to take the family for dinner with my first paycheck (hahahah yes yes I know that it’s more than a month away before I actually receive my salary but it doesn’t stop me from getting excited).

-drumroll- Here’s the list (non-exhaustive):

1. Majestic Restaurant: the modern chinese food here is exquisitely delicious.

2. Club Chinois: another snazzy place which serves delectable modern chinese cuisine in individual portions, french-styled.

3. Peach Garden: albeit the sad variety, the dimsum here is truly amazing! and so are the desserts!

People-watching

With less than a month to the end of my carefree do-absolutely-nothing-at-all days, I planned an afternoon of, one of my favourite activities, people watching. Though it didn’t quite go as it usually does, which normally follows a sequence of observing, analyzing, predicting, and then zoning-out before moving on to the next target, it was probably somewhat more efficient. Our intention for that afternoon was purely work-related; we wanted to figure out the appropriate look for the office before we actually started work. So instead of my regular people watch routine, we zoomed in on what was needed and the session ended really quickly. There were no afterthoughts, no exciting discussions, and there definitely were no string of analyses. It was to-the-point - like or dislike; yes or no. Nothing more, nothing less.

And after our short session was over, we headed down to town to finish up (or begin, however you look at it) what we intended to do. Yes, still work-related hahaha, although we did managed to squeeze in a girly flick between our observation and legitimate shopping session.

:) I need more sessions like these.

guess who’s going to be my colleague?

i have this feeling we’re going to be the noisiest in the office.

bring on the moet, it’s time to celebrate!

junexcitement

I’m all psyched for one last month of absolute boredom.

1. Sushi-wii party

2. Drunk bowling

3. Steak and drinks at Morton’s

4. Decade-old bbq

5. Belting out old tunes

6. Good ol’ clubbing

7. Baking

The Call (part 2)

All plans have been put on hold until The Call comes through. It feels like the tail wagging the dog when one call controls my every move and plan. so sad…so sad. BUT, it doesn’t stop me from scanning through airline sites hoping that some good deal to a particular land of dimsum will pop up!

The Call

For the last month or so, our moods have been dictated by The Call (or lack thereof). After every round, we wait live anxiously by our phones, hoping that someone from XXX company will call to schedule us in for the next round. And the wait is horrendously tormenting. Worse yet, if one of us gets The Call first, and the other has to wait for weeks; it drives everyone insane.

Guess what? GAO GOT CALLED! Wooohooo!

Which means we each have one more call to wait for. The final countdown.

one too many emotions

Today was intense. I feel as if a wave of emotions just hit me right in my chest. I’ve got disappointment staring straight at me, and a mix of everything else (shock, pride, hunger, annoyance, disbelief, happiness, exhaustion, and sadness) all swimming inside of me. I wish I could say that my performance today carried the day for me, but it’s hardly the case. More so because I knew I was capable of much more than what I gave this afternoon. Oh well, instead of trying to beat my head against the wall, I should be going through my other options. Plus, it wasn’t so bad. At least I learnt something valuable from the experience today.

On another note, I’m tired from trying. I’m not going to cast pearls before swine. It’s a waste of my time.
